Description

Air pollution by carbon monoxide workspace with smoking workers . One of the alternative technologies that can be used to overcome this problem is the air filter and activated carbon . Activated carbon micro -sized pores can be used to adsorb anions ,cat ions and molecules in the form of organic and inorganic compounds , solvents or gases, where in activated carbon made from coconut shell charcoal .Coconut shell activated carbon quality produce that can adsorb the compound combustion products tobacco. The general objective of this study to determine the effect of various sizes and thickness of coconut shell activated carbon in reducing carbon monoxide of workspace. The study design was a field-scale experiment, which studied the effect of the influence of various sizes and thickness of coconut shell activated carbon in reducing carbon monoxide of workspace. The study design was a field-scale experiments, design done in this research is completely randomized design. The population is all the air of workspace contained carbon monoxide. Statistical test results obtained p value was 0.000 (p <0.0050, so there are differences in average sizes and thickness of coconut shell activated carbon in reducing carbon monoxide of workspace. The conclusions of this study there is the influence of the sizes and thickness of the coconut shell active carbon in reducing carbon monoxide of workspace with a thickness of 15 cm and a sizes 30 mesh which can reduce carbon monoxide highest of workspace.
